Hi. You don’t know me. I actually have my own blog on wordpress. I am 31 and was diagnosed with Stage IIB invasive ductal carcinoma in March of this year, close to when you were I think. I started a blog for my family and friends as well and just noticed that I had a blog hit from your site. We have some related blog posts and they’re linking with each other, which is pretty cool. Anyway, I came across your blog in my blog stats. I noticed you started chemo and that you have the terrible dry cotton mouth side effect. I have my third big chemo treatment this week. My first one was the worst and the dry cotton mouth was terrible but the second time, I sucked on popsicles during the full hour of my Taxotere treatment, one of the chemo drugs I’m on and the one that causes the most side effects, including the dry sore mouth. The popsicles SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the dry sore mouth side effects so I wanted to pass along the tip to you. If you want to read my blog, it’s daniellemurray.wordpress.com. I hope things go well for you. Stay strong and good luck with your treatments! Best wishes, Danielle (a fellow young femal chemo/cancer patient from Charlotte, NC)
Hi Danielle,
Thanks for the tip! I will definitely try popsicles for my next infusion. The cotton mouth is awful, isn’t it? I’ll be sure to check out your blog. Take care.

Hey – I just came across your blog from the Smith College Alum blogroll. I’m class of 2004, and I work for Breast Cancer Action (www.bcaction.org), along with Barbara Brenner, our Executive Director, who is also a Smith alum. Since you’ve covered the pinkwashing theme here I thought you might be interested in our Think Before You Pink campaign: thinkbeforeyoupink.org
And we have a lot of resources and information you won’t find anywhere else – let us know if we can support you in any way. Glad to see you out there on this blog, take care.
